Hid Xenon bulbs

Hi all, quick question. I've heard that HID headlamp bulbs last a lot longer than a normal halogen bulb. Do you carry spare HID D2S bulbs? If so could you pass on the k rating, ( for a 2008 MY ). I have seen that there seems to be different types, will fitting higher k rated bulbs damage the headlamp lens?

Many thanks

As I understand it the k is the colour, 4300 would be a crisp white light with a hint of yellow upto 1200k which would be really blue. We sell hundreds at work and 6000k outsells all the rest put together

The K is the colour temperature. It stands for Kelvin, hence the capital k. As Kelvin is the absolute temperature scale (it starts at absolute zero, i.e. 0K) it doesn't have "degrees" in front of it Thumbs Up

Colour temperature is the hypothetical colour that would be produced by an ideal black body at that temperature, it's not the temperature of the bulb in your unit. The colour you see is caused by the chemicals used in the unit rather than the actual temperature of the bulb, if that makes sense. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Thanks RRSTDV8, I was a bit worried that if I picked a higher number it would be more powerful and hotter and end up deforming or marking the plastic headlamp.
BTW what number do you think would be more or less the same as stock versions?

Many thanks
