Make of Nav system in MY2010 sport

Does anyone know the make of the Sat Nav system or who makes the software in the MY2010 Sport.
Trying to find out info with regard to updating the software from my local stealer is turning out to be impossible.
They cant even tell me how it would be upgraded, disc or USB, I told them it was a Hard drive system and the VIN number but they still dont know how it would be updated.
Then they tell me that I couldnt do it and they would have to do it because it would have to be hooked up to the computer and then charge me 80 pound for the priveledge, my question to them was how do they know this if they dont even know how it updates, I was just given a blank look, incredible, just walked away without saying anything.

1. I want to know what version of software I have?
2. What is the latest version?
3. What is the difference between What I have and what the new version would offer other than updated maps, would it include night mode etc.....

Thanks Flack, seems like the whole thing is a bag of sh*t, and the dealer doesnt have a clue.
I am going to try and talk to Navtec direct and see if I can get more sense from them Thumbs Up 2010 Alaska white 3.6TDi v8, heated steering wheel, Ipod connection, Aribica extended leather, Digital TV, voice activation, privacy glass, Dynamic pack

Sounds like you need to try another dealer.

Don't think Navteq will be of much help. I sent them an email over a week ago regarding the availability of the 2012-2013 disc for 05-09 RRS and have had no reply back from them. Rolling Eyes 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool

The options of dealers in the Aberdeen area are few JasM, .
As for Navtech there is a number that you can call them on which are now called HERE, the number is 0808 234 3389 Thumbs Up 2010 Alaska white 3.6TDi v8, heated steering wheel, Ipod connection, Aribica extended leather, Digital TV, voice activation, privacy glass, Dynamic pack

The most up to date disc available for the 05-09 RRS is 2011-2012, as LR havr no plans to release a more up to date one. Quite shocking IMO.

I would only go for genuine discs. I know someone who used a copy disc in there sat nav system and it damaged the laser inside the system. Shocked 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool

I cant see why a copy disc would damage anything if it works. A disc is a disc. Maybe the laser was on its way out anyway.

I used one in an S Class I had for a few years without issue.

Dealers like to put such propaganda out (because they sell the discs). Like they used to do about red diesel. That was all rubbish too. Diesel engines run just as well in Russia and such places where they fill them up with whatever is handy.

£180 for a CD is madness IMO.

But, you pays your money and makes your choice I suppose.
