TDV8 again..

Right after all thats happened this week..
I have now secured a decent garage who has slot 2 available for dec delivery, and they are actually ringing me up again and again to ask whether i want to proceed. However i just CANNOT decide.. if it comes in Jan 07. Then i would have had the RS4 for just over 6 months.. doesn't seem hardly any time at all.. but if i keep it any longer, then the time in the TDV8 may be too short before the M3 arrives.. Censored .. can't decide, and i don't want to loose this slot either....

hmmmmm............

ok.. points taken..
had a chat with the guy at the said garage.. my brother in law got their D3 from them so we have some history now, so he's being nicer..

Basically, £1000 deposit, and i can specify Jan first week delivery. So good to sell the RS4 in Jan, plus my new RRS will be a 2007/56. He said my deposits fully refundable, but if i did change my mind, i would sell it off instead of cancelling delivery and going back on my order, as this is better resolution and better for future dealings with that dealer.

So he's confirming the colours he's got the first three cars coming in on, i said if he's got zermatt silver with black, i would take that.. with rhodium trim and privacy glass, car will have dynamic pack etc so will be better then my previous tdv6 to drive, as Jay demonstrated using his car with SuperT driving it last week.

I've asked for any piece of info he can get regarding this car, but i think its going to be all about the engine and torque wave..

Surely the colours haven't been decided on those cars though? If you wanted a partic colour, couldn't you choose? I'm thinking Chawton, with privacy glass... Thumbs Up

chawton is a stunner.. however as im thinking of a short term hop through the tdv8 before the M3.. im thinking to go with something a bit more mainstream so as to guarantee a decent resale price if suddenly tastes change... Am thinking Black /Silver you can't go wrong with, but im not having another black one, as the first one was so hard to keep clean.

Think Silver would be easier colour to manage, and with black'd out glass, would look great.

I spoke with the dealer, and he told me, the RRS' he's got pre spec'd, basically one is zermatt silver/black leather/rhodium with no extras on top apart from TV (Digital/Analogue) which i personally think is a complete waste of money, as i'd never use it. I said does it have privacy glass, and he said no, but we could have it put on.

He did tell me that the 0-60mph time is around 8 secs, but that he is finding out more tommorow as they are having a training roadshow, so lets see what LR dish out to the dealers.. guess tommorow is the day then..

If they're pre-spec'd with no toys, that's going to lessen optimum resale from the word go irrespective of colour. Agree though, my M3 was silver and very easy to keep clean (i.e. when I didn't ever clean it, nobody made any comments because they couldn't tell) Wink The RRS I did my LRE in was silver/black/rhodium and it is a nice combo.

Interesting re 0-60 sprint. Means that when TC/JE get their hands on it, it will definitely beat the SC. Let us know what happens! Thumbs Up

well to be fair, im not sure what extras can be ordered on the new tdv8.. the standard kit on the HSE TDV6 is very high, so i can only imagine it will be even higher on the TDV8 so optional extras are going to be minimal, without going crazy and ordering side steps, rear entertainment package etc..

The TDV8 should have 20" wheels (dunno what sort).. dynamic pack, so thats the brakes, ARM and stuff sorted.. will have Bluetooth PTI, and everything else 07 TDV6's have. The only visual enhancement i can think of which won't be standard are the privacy tints, and the usual tracker etc. Adaptive xenons may be standard, may have to be added.. to be honest, im happy with just xenons, adaptive are a bit of a gimick really, but saying that i hardly take my RS4 on dark country lanes, so wouldn't know the full effect of their use.

Hmm obviously ill have to go out and pick up another set of SC vents and grills, but will wait and see whether the one they put on the TDV8 will be different or not? who knows..
