Black edition specification required

Guys, does anyone have the Black Edition spec that they could send me or send a link or something like that.?

I am thinking about buying an LR directors car ( MY 13) and want to compare the spec?

Also, what is the easiest way to get the full spec of my current vehicle? Is there a way?

I am away from UK atresent and all my docs are at home!! Need some nighttime reading / planning....

Thanks Muddy, I'll check that out for the VIN no....

I had a test drive in the new RRS and although I quite liked it, the Black Edition looks a better car and deal to me but I have a great TDV8 HSE which I think is fantastic.... So is the Black so much better than a 2009 preface lift TDV8?
There are lots of nice new tech bits but I still love that V8..

What are your thoughts overall on the Black?

Ps..... I have the option of a Black 'Black' or a Grey 'Black' ... !!

Spain 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Fuji White

I went from a TDV8 to my new SDV6 my13.5 Black edition. Apart from the noise from the exhaust which the TDV8 does very well, the SDV6 with the 8 speed box is a great package. Slightly lacking in grunt compared to the V8 but I'm thinking about getting mine remapped... No regrets on the change at all.

P.S. I think the new one is just soooo fugly, an overinflated Evoque, so I decided against that as an option!! 2013 RRS SDV6 Autobiography Fuji White

I went from a MY10 to the Black - the 10 was disappointing and when I drove a TDV8 Vogue I felt should of bought one of them but now in the Black that feeling has gone Embarassed

The MY13 feels a totally different vehicle - it's quieter for a start and when you put your foot down the 8 speed is very smooth Cool

The toys are great but being the driver I don't get to appreciate things like the TV and the streaming audio was not connecting automatically/correctly so reverted to ipod again Rolling Eyes

Looking forward to the timed climate when the cold weather arrives though Mr. Green

I love grey cars but opted for the Black as I just felt a car called Black edition should be just that and the black trims jarred with the grey IMHO so would then of been tempted to colour code Confused

I like discounts and hate waiting lists so ruled the new model out for a while and went for the Black - I also felt the new model pricing/options is taking the Censored

I have never driven a TDV8 RRS so unable to compare but the TDV8 Vogue went like the proverbial off a shovel but scared me to death when it rolled on the corners Shocked

My only niggle with the Black is the loss of front sensors when towing and the snail pace LR are dealing with it Evil or Very Mad

At the moment I am very happy and look forward to getting it out of my garage whenever I can Bow down Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Do you know you have to take the ecu out to remap the SDV6. It can only be remapped on the bench which means opening up the ecu so L/R will know its been done if they check and may invalidate a warranty claim. Shocked Big Cry

Have to agree with Muddy re the difference between the two models. Bought my 'Grey' Black 3 months ago and love it.

Got a crackin deal on a pre reg 13 plate, I specced the equivalent model on the build your own RRS website and the price came out at 73k !

Hi,

I had the usual dilema earlier in the year:-

1. Keep my 10MY TDV8 HSE for another year on an extended warranty.
2. Keep hold of mine until the 2014MY was available.
3. Chop mine back against an SDV6 HSE Black.

I took option 3. I picked her up on the 1st March and (apart from one glitch with the infotainment system) she's been faultless.

Do I miss the TDV8 - for the "soundtrack" - yes - the V8 burble when you boot it is a wonderful thing - apart from that the HSE Black is brilliant. The SDV6 is smooth, just as quick (especially if you use the flappy paddles) - cross country in "dynamic" mode is superb - SWMBO can always tell when I've had a good run home from work with the smile on my face.

Not to mention fewer trips to the fue lstation - especially on Shell Nitro +.

I would say - go for it.

Guys,

thanks for the input on your cars, i must say that it is reinforcing my own thoughts on the 'Black' ( Black Black for me im sure) I couldnt agree any more with Muddy's words , thats exactly the way im thinking right now
I think that i will miss the V8 burble as noted, i just love that and the strong torque pull when needed , but weighed up against all the extra new Tech hopefully it will be an opportunity to strike a good deal ...... how much is an outgoing model - Ex Directors car really worth topline ?( no doubt there will be a derisory offer for my current car , in which case i will put it up here if my lad doesnt break my hand off for it )

Any guidance on the price to look for ? I believe they are looking at low 50's..

Muddy - thats a lovely looking car, I do like black cars, its the cleaning. I live up a dirt track next to the North Sea and as we know black shows up everything, after a black x5 and a black evoque I said never again.

TST - Re prices, peter vardy in aberdeen (where i got mine and the service is first class) have two 13 plates on their website for under 50k, well worth it. 2017 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography Santorini Black

Agree cleaning and scratches are the biggest drawback with black but I had to have a black Black edition this time Embarassed
