General Grabber tyres on 20" Stormers, - any good

My tyre dealer has offered me a set of 20" Stormers fitted with General Grabber 275/40/20 tyres for £1000 incl vat. Is this a good deal? I think the wheels look great, but I am concerned about the tyres, Will the ride be affected, and is the grip OK?

Has anyone had experience of these?

Any info appreciated.

Are the Stormers OEM or replica? If they're OEM - that seems like a very good deal.

I note this is from the tyre dealer....I would suspect the Stormers may be ersatz - be sure to check for the LR mark inside the wheels. If you find it - it's a great deal - real Stormers on eBay are running about 1,600 GBP, wheels only, so you're looking at free tyres!!! If they are OE then I'd buy them, upgrade the tyres and sell the General Grabbers. 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE, Java/Ebony/Cherry, Privacy, Sunroof, PTI, Premium Sound, SatNav, Cold Climate, Tow kit, CarStyle coded grill and vents, Tasmods, Stormers, JE Exhaust, Autobiography badge

And do you have Dynamic Pack on your RRS if not this will make a big difference going from 19"s to 20" as SuperT thinks so (he has Stormers) . He was saying that my RRS has a much better ride then his RRS witch doesnt have Dynamic Pack RRS TDV6 Gone but still around

No, I doubt that they are OEM, they will be replicas. I have actually seen the wheels and tyres, and they look just like the originals. Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE

The Disco 3 courtesy car I had from Trinity in Hinckley last week had this exact combination on, 20" Stormers with the General Grabber tyres and they seemed very good. They were smooth and quiet and the tyres also looked good with a bold modern tread pattern.
Let's be honest, with our cars, we're not really interested in the ultimate level of grip as I doubt we're throwing them around to anywhere near their limits. We want a smooth, quiet ride, that wears well, doesn't tramline excessively and above all, is cost-effective.
Having driven on them, I'd have no problem in buying a set next time around.
Alternatively, The Hankook tyres are also worth a look. I don't have Dynamic Response and I haven't noticed any degredation in ride quality with 20" wheels with Hankook tyres, when compared to my original 19" wheels with Continentals on.

You obviously have not met Ruadh08!!!

I was in the passenger seat responding to a text message sent from the Lotus driver behind requesting that we move over before he died of soot inhalation

Not exactly a daily commute

Just badly behaved Scottish Elise Boys on tour in May !!!!
