Northern Ireland 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black

Ok guys update on mine

Took truck from my house in NI to Dublin approx 110 miles

Car travelled down With no problems

Coming home today, approx 20 miles out of Dublin went to overtake a row of cars, When I went to accerlate I noticed same thing as before, ie she seemed to clog up slightly then it went but the engine management light came on

I nursed it up home at approx 70mph whole way and took it straight to my friend who has diagnostic checker

Exact same 2 codes 420 and 430

P0420 Catalyst efficiency is low, Bank A (NAS only) Y C
P0430 Catalyst efficiency is low, Bank B (NAS only) Y C

All cats are outta the truck on both banks, they were cut open with internals smashed out and spacers installed on the lambda sensors

Can anyone please advise me what else could possibly be causing this as I'm losing will to live.

Also guys mabye I should say also about a slight roughness engine idle. It's only slight between 250-500 rpm approx 4-5 times when u apply light pressure to accelerator when stopped and again when u come to a junction for example and stop before pulling out

Although my mechanic says this is a base idle issue

It's not revving highly or stalling

Thanks

At the risk of stating the obvious, the Catalytic Convertors are missing on both banks, so the lambda sensors will not be reading correctly. You need to rectify this, before looking any further into the issue

Yes mate but the Lambda spacers are meant 2 sort that aspect of it out. Ie they trick the computer into thinking readings are ok and in theory the EML never comes back on

It's my understanding this happens when road cars are made in track cars and de cat done

You answered your own question. In theory...

That's what is meant to happen, but it is a sophisticated management system, it may not work on the S/C Sport...

Fink ya might be right

Tell me this would egr be causing that slight problem I'm having with rough base idle

Ie car just taking 4-5 revs before finding its base?

It's not really rough generally not going above 750rpm
