Boot size?

I took a new RRS for a test drive a couple of weeks ago and just wondered if anyone can tell me if the boot on the new model is significantly smaller than the one on the out going RRS?

Jim

Hi Jim..... you're right it is smaller.... nearly 15%
So the old RRS has nearly the same capacity as the new FFRR

In Cubic litres

Old RRS rear seat up 958cl seat down 2013cl
New RRS rear seat up 784 seat down 1761

Hmmmm.......I really am concerned by how small the boot appears to be on the new RRS.

I'm used to chucking a large amount of baggage in the back without worrying with my current RRS. Anyone having problems with the smaller size?

Jim

Hmmm...

Cubic litres??

Is that very different from a normal litre?

I have always lived under the impression that a litre was a very
specific measure of volume..

3 cubic litres equals 27 regular litres?? Rolling Eyes

I thought that too but we seem to get grief for pointing out errors around here... Rolling Eyes 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

no grief at all.... you are right... it should be litres........
I got confused when I took the capacity off the old model... that was in cubic litres and converted it to litres 2014.5 SDV6 AB Dynamic ... Fuji /Santorini Pan roof and 22's

Well now we know where the extra leg room came from Rolling Eyes

I already struggle with the old sport when we go away with just the dog, luggage and 2 adults - we had to take 2 cars in the summer for 3 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 terriers with luggage - might need to look at disco next Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

The new RRS is wider and longer ..... SO

Itīs got to be a mixture of the legroom and that lowered roofline that accounts for the 15ish percent reduction in capacity......The access height of the rear boot is significantly reduced

Doesnīt take much to fill up that boot when going travelling... especially with dogs.... 2014.5 SDV6 AB Dynamic ... Fuji /Santorini Pan roof and 22's
