Anyone running Cooper LTZ 275/45/20s?

Had them on my D3 and toying with the idea of getting 4 for my RRS. Obviously they are slightly bigger than the current 275/40/20 continental/scorpion zeros but hopefully they will give a slightly better ride and fill the arches a bit more??

Is anyone running these on their RRS? if so, how do you rate them?

Cheers Andy Thumbs Up , in your opinion which tyre would you go for in that size?

Cooper LTZ
Grabber AT

They seem to be a similar price and both get good reports but if i remember correctly the AT has a higher speed rating? Currently running 245/70/20 conti's on front and p zeros on rear but all will be ready for swapping before the winter so i wanted to make the right choice Thumbs Up

Quite right about the 3.8 % increased diameter........I used to get a reading of 28 - 29 mph going past the speed monitors with my cruise set at 30 when I had 275 40 20 tyres on.

Now, with the slightly larger 45 profile tyres on they read 30 when I'm set at 30.

Checked this several times on different speed monitors in various villages and got same result.

@Marsie......GG AT is speed rated at H (130 mph) while the LTZ is rated S (118) if I recall correctly 12MY RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Lux Sumatra / Black + contrast/ Grand Black

Nottsman,

Did you notice a real improvement in the ride with this size? I love my HSE Black apart from the harsh ride. 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

That's what I do. My winter tyres are 255/50 and my others are 255/55. The ride is much better on 255/55/19 than on 275/40/20. And the 255/55/19s fill the arch better too Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Jim...definite ride improvement going from the 275/40 to 275/45 in 20 inch, bearing in mind I was going from some spent Contis to new General GT in the larger size. Higher sidewall height to rim diameter ratio usually equates to greater ride comfort.
As the guys above have said, the 19 inch wheels which give more sidewall height improves ride even more...especially the 255/55/19 which is Disco size and is 1% more diameter than 275/45/20 but with one inch more rubber.
The higher sidewall also gives some extra protection against kerbing your alloys but still not missus-proof as I have already found out. Big Cry 12MY RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Lux Sumatra / Black + contrast/ Grand Black
