If you check out the disco3 forum you will find plenty of information on the TDV6 and yes its an easy job |

It is still a DIY job, but if you have ARC/Dynamic Response, it can be quite awkward to get the 2 bottom bolts out of the alternator

had a look this morning, have taken the air pipe out of the way, and the top half of the fan cover, had another look and have now stopped, next move would be to take off the fan, not sure how I remove the bottom half of the fan cowling as this looks like it will be in the way About to get into a sport |

If you have factory fit Brembo's, then you have DR.

it has Brembos so I assume I have then - will have another look later today after the F1 About to get into a sport |

So alternator replaced, got a denso one from Eurocar Parts £176 inc vat (using discount code) car starts ok voltage good at battery after about ten minutes battery warning light comes on!!!!! ......................... NOW WHAT!!!!! About to get into a sport |

There have been a few posts of members buying alternators from Euro car parts and them failing shortly after, if this is the case then you need to get it replaced .

Euro Car Parts do 2 alternators one with a 1yr warranty and one with 2yrs I went for 2yrs and have had no problems at all.. |

Turned out be the 'Alternator Link Wire' was faulty which probably caused the alternator failure to start with, wire replaced and all working now - thanks for the advise and pointers
