ARC Identification

Hi

I am looking to buy a 10 plate 3.0 HSE RRS and after looking through the forum there is a lot of talk about ARC problems and reliability, even LR can't solve the knocking issue.
Is there a way to visually see if a particular RRS has ARC fitted as i think a car without this may be a wise choice. Swifty

On 10MY ISTR only SE models didn't have Dynamic Response (active anti roll bars) as standard but it was an option. Picture below shows the oil reservoir which will be present if fitted. (This happens to be a 09MY TDV6)

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the detailed image, it will defiantly help.

So do all HSE RRS leave the factory with ARC fitted as standard? Swifty

Discos without active anti roll bars also suffer from knocking so I wouldn't discount a vehicle just because it has active ARB.

The bushes need replacing on all D3/RRS models over time... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I bought my RRS from a Land Rover dealer. He said it didn't have Dynamic Response but I looked in the engine bay earlier this evening after looking at the photo above. My car definitely has the indicated reservoir (with the icon of a car with a curved arrow on each side of it indicating roll). What should I conclude? I looked underneath at the front suspension but aside from identifying the anti-roll bar I have no idea what else to look for. RR Sport SE SDV6 (first registered July 2011)

I wonder if the dealer was confused between Dynamic Response and the Dynamic Programme (the additional symbol on the terrain response dial). 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

He could be excused! I dare say these terms for various forms of electronically controlled wizardry are chosen by marketing people for sales appeal, not by engineers for descriptive clarity.

However in this case he couldn't have meant that because my car does actually have the dynamic programme amongst its Terrain Response settings and he certainly knew that it does. RR Sport SE SDV6 (first registered July 2011)

I think that if it has the Dynamic Programme then it has Dynamic Response too as it's part of the system. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
