United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Zermatt Silver
Dilemma! TDV8 or 3.0 TDV6

Hi All
I recently sold my 2.7tdv6 RR Sport and bitterly regret it every day. I now have the opportunity for a replacement but I have a big dilemma. I am torn between two (59 plate) vehicles, old and new shape and would love to receive your thoughts to help make my decision easier.
Do I purchase:

A: 59 Plate in Black 3.6TDV8 HSE (Original Body Shape) with 16,000 miles and immaculate. (I know the current owner and its entire history) Purchase price £26000
or
B: 59 Plate in Silver 3.0 TDV6 HSE (Newer Body Shape) with 44,500 miles. (Local Land Rover Dealership) Purchase Price £30000

Your thoughts please, i.e. value for money/colour/resale/running costs etc.

Regards
Nick

B, much better interior, engine is just about on par with the 3.6 apart from the noise, both seem a fair price. You have to ask yourself. What is it you want out of the motor Question Mpg will be much better on the 3.0L too by about 8mpg tootling around. Servicing will be cheaper on the 3.0L and probably insurance will be a little bit cheaper too. Warranty is a must though, and you get 12 months minimum with any approved L/R from a dealer.

Australia 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black

Go for the newer car. The TDV8 is nice and low mileage but the new car will feel better and will be "current" for longer with a much improved interior. Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6
Gone - 2009 Buckingham Blue RRS 2.7 TDV6
Gone - 2010 Alaska White RRS 5.0 V8 Aspirated
Gone - 2017 Chawton White RRS 5.0 V8 Supercharged
Current - 2010 Java Black RRS 5.0 V8 Aspirated
Current- 2024 RRS P400 SE Dynamic

Go for the newer shape one. The interior is a much nicer place to be than the, albeit nice, older one. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I did both today. 2010 v8 test drive then came home in a 13 plate V6. Would buy the loan car in the morning. Nice to be back in a Sport, it feels like home. Wasn't hanging about and still getting 30 mpg....
Going to have to seriously consider my options at the end of the month but the Fullfat is going to have to go! Laughing 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜
