I've seen a number of RRS on Nexen Roadian tyres. They're basically a budget tyre.

Do you guys know if when a set of wheels has been refurbished., powercoated etc...Do they correct any wheels problems, can I rely on some refurbished like new ones or not? tdv6s 2.7 2007

I'd say it really depends on what company did the refurb and how much had been spent on the job. I'm sure the seller/company would tell you if you asked them.

I know sport tyres are expensive...but personally my advice on such an important component is buy a trusted brand...this isnt an area to scrimp on Mike

Thank you Streaky and MSE, yes I think so too, that is why I ask around. I rather then buy the wheels and tires separated and not be too tempted by a full set with budget tires, i will have tendency to think the refurbishment was also a budget one. tdv6s 2.7 2007

I have been running Nexen Roadian tyres on my RRS for a couple of years now. Ultimate roadholding is less good than the Yokohamas that preceded them, but they are fine in every other respect.

In my younger/cash strapped days I bought the cheapest tyres I could find until my cousin who is a keen biker pointed out whatever you drive/ride it's only as safe/good as it's tyres - I no longer scrimp on tyres Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

I can remember when hankook and falken were cheap budget tyres. Then they sold a truck full, employed a marketing company, trebled their prices and now they're mid range 2011 Evoque Si4 Dynamic plus lux
