few years back i went past my servicing dealers and saw my car parked outside on the forecourt, i questioned this a few days later when i collected it when the parts had arrived and been fitted.

They came back with the reply it was there as they had moved out the workshop to work on others but was left secure again at night.... must have been doing a night shift as i drove past at 11pm and they look a little embarrassed

now though they leave it in there new workshop locked away all night

New defender door and bonnet thefts was/is very common....certainly when i had my 2008 defender

Its not unknown at the correct age for it to make the car an insurance right off...given the genuine replacement costs.

I think there was something similar with d3 headlights being easy to remove Mike

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

A friend of mine had a front indicator stolen from his D1. A few nights later someone stole the headlight from the same side. Apparently they are extremely easy to remove.

I'd have thought the D3 lights were like the RRS and needed the bonnet opening before removal, Mike. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

^^^^^ Nope, the D3 lights come straight off with a good tug. Shocked A pal of mine had his nicked a few months ago. Quite common for these to be stolen according to the police. Whistle

Really? Wow, I'm amazed that they'd design something like that. Actually, it's LR so perhaps I'm not amazed... Censored 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Had a D2 TD5, had the lamps in the rear bumper and both rear lamps nicked in broad daylight whilst in a Coventry car park. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.
