RRS Dipped Beam Light Bulbs

Hi everyone, a quick question. I seem to be having problems with my Dipped Beam Lights on my RRS Stormer where the Halogen bulbs seem to be blowing repeatedly. Can anyone tell me if they're having the same problem? I generally leave the light setting to Automatic, as that's what its there to do. Also I'm also careful making sure i don't have contact with the surround of the bulb itself (which can reduce the bulb's working life). However I've replaced one on the N/S, two on the O/S and the O/S has blown again. This will be the 3rd time in less than 18 months. Thanks in advance. MY2009 Range Rover Sport Stormer 2.7 TDV6

Hi,

I had a similar problem on my G4 Disco2. It was eating headlamp bulbs and it was a pain to change them with the A-bar / light guard setup on the front.

I moaned to a guy at my Main Stealers and he said that there was a Tech Bulletin about it and to use the "heavy duty bulbs we use in Freelanders" rather than normal H7's.

Microcat certainly shows the Freelander H7's to be a different part number to the D2 / 2009 RRS H7's.

I tried it and didn't have to change a bulb for 2 years.

SWMBO has a D2 and carries the "right" bulbs in the glovebox "just in case".

Might be worth a punt!

I had this problem in a 406 many years ago. I was told to buy the hid type bulb not actual hid. They have as I can only describe as a silver cap on the top.of the bulb.

The logic behind this was they light up at lower temp due to a different gas composition in the bulb itself done the trick for me and out lasted the other normal bulbs I was using. Worked for me not sure if you fancy a try.

Also on a side note I have found that the cheaper the bulb the longer the duration of it that's what I have found in my works vehicle, and I do a lot of night driving so put bulbs through there paces.

Fair amount of logic in the above Shocked
Son was going through Osram high output bulbs every two or three months. Has had cheap motor factor bulbs in for over a year.....so really no logic to it.
Gonna have to investigate my oil candles, the high beams have no depth or focus on the barge and the lights look similar to the great lights I had in Sport that lit dust on hedges. Hoping its got wrong bulbs in as it tries to emit a yellowy glow Big Cry 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
