Hi, I haven't had any problems with mine going dim on its own but I do know there is a brightness option under the sat nav settings icon. You could try to readjust it to make it brighter and see if it stays bright MY16 AUTOBIOGRAPHY Indus silver with some toys

The dash dim dial to the right of the ignition also effects the sat nav brightness.

It isn't instant, but have you checked it's up to it's brightest? RRS gone

Has this just happened or always been like it?

I only ask because common mod on the D3 forum was to cut a wire to the satnav display. This gives all the features of the FFRR (i.e phone controls,4x4 info, radio controls etc) on the touchscreen but the downside is that the display goes very dim during daylight??
something to do with the light sensors being different on the FFRR to D3/RRS

Maybe worth looking into, if not cut it may have rubbed through?
