'Check Brake Pads' Alarm!!

Is there a way of temporarily disabling the annoying chime from this alarm. I am changing all pads/discs next week with the help of 'Bodsy's Brake Bible', but in the meantime I have to endure an annoying intermittent noisy alarm.........and can anyone explain why it's intermittent? I thought that once the contact was either made or broken due to the wear in the pad that it should remain in that alarmed state?

Perhaps the wire is not all the way through yet, the wrong way of stopping your alarm would be to scotchlock both halves of the pad wear wire to each other. Completely wrong of course Whistle

Oh and new options here....

As Steve has said unless you have a link wire to link the brake wear sensor out then your only other option is to cut the wires and join them together and when you replace the brakes, renew the brake wear sensors, as yours is warning you already you have to change them anyway so you just need to check and see if its front or back thats causing it. There is one on the front left and rear right hand side.
