Range rover sport lowrering links help?

Hi im going to be lowering my sport with the links to get a better stance Smile.. Guy fitting it has said il loose access mode which is fine.. My question is can i put the suspension back up and drive at normal height for log journeys? The guy fitting them said he thinks theres a speed limit of around 70 and the car will lower itself? Anyone with links on their sports can shed any light will be greatly appreciated Smile

England 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 Autobiography Zambezi Silver

hi mate i have lowering links on mine and if i put it in access mode it lifts straight back up again but drive normal when up, i do get a suspension warnig light on now and again tho , links take about 30 minutes to change

Thanks for reply.. So when your in normal driving mode your car sits low? And when you choose access mode it raises to normal drive height and stays there no matter which speed? Where did you get yours fitted?

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

If you fit lowering links then the height the links give is the new "normal" height. If you choose "access" then it will bottom out and return to the new "normal" height i.e. the height set by the links. If you choose "off road" then you'll get a 50mm increase in height but it will return to "normal" at approx. 30-35mph.

If you want it to run at the correct height for longer runs then you would need to replace the lowering links with ones of standard length.

The alternative is to buy an EAS Tool or IID Tool which allows you to electronically set the ride height. This would allow you to return to standard "normal" mode ride heights as required.

The penalty for wanting gangsta-chav low ride most of the time is that you end up either putting up with it all the time or spending a couple of hundred quid to have the option of proper ride.

I might add that if the chap doing the alterations for you doesn't understand the system then he's probably not the chap to be using... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

thanks i ordered the EAS unit glad i posted a thread here otherwise would of bought the lowering links Big Cry

I have the EAS unit it does 'what it says on the tin' cracking piece of kit but be aware as previously mentioned even the IID tool can cause tyre problems & It does make a difference to the ' ride ' a lot more sensitive - especially speed humps & potholes Evil or Very Mad
If you set it too low & try to use access mode it bottoms out & goes into extended height mode. I use it every now & then Whistle weddings & prom nights Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter apart from that the novelty soon faded.
If you haven't ordered 1 yet a place in Kent does them at a reasonable price ( cheapest I've seen ) .

I have had previous cars with rock solid coilovers nearly touching the ground lol so ride dosnt bother me Smile
I paid £225 delivered which was exactly what the links guy was charging supply and fit.. Cant wait to get my car back from paint so i can lower it and post some pics up Smile

I got a 2.7 tdv6 bought it totally standard in silver so gathered all the parts to transform it Smile it went into paint last week didnt want to go down the wrapping root .. Having it done in pearl white really itching to get it back! But on the other hand im driving my r8 weekend car more Smile il post pics of both soon as i get the range back Thumbs Up

Was thinking of doing something diffrent like matt grey or a bright colour but i dont think it would look that good so chose a real nice creamy pearl hopefully should look good !
