Friendsa got a 2010 rrs and fuel sensor is intermittently failing, reporting the tanks empty when it's not, anyone had this before? Is it a simple fix? Likely to get anything from range rover as its out of warranty |

Wiring issue in the O/S/F wheelarch, or faulty sender unit. One can be replaced, the other can't, and needs a new tank.

One sounds costly and the other doesn't, he's on his 2nd landrover (I bought his old one) but he didn't buy this one from a main dealer as he was so unimpressed with our local dealer first time round! Worth a try though and thanks for advice |

Be very careful with this. I had a faulty sender an the car seemed ok for a few days, just meant I had to be sure I kept it topped up as the gauge read empty. BUT, a few days later the car kept shutting off the engine... Very scary at 60 mph going round a bend as when the car shuts down all power steering stops, believe me you don't want to drive a sport with no power steering!! Turns out that this is a safety feature to prevent damage to engine when no fuel in tank...despite tank being full! Typical case of damn car being too clever for its own good 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

^^ too right, my steering went like concrete mid corner. It took all my strength to keep the car from crossing onto the other side of the road not a pleasant moment 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black
