If you mean the self closing (remote/dashboard) tailgate modification, then this can be done to the facelift models fine for MY2012 and 2013 models pre MK2. Not sure on earlier MK1s.

My mistake Col, forgot most alterations came with the MY12 models. I have corrected my post to try make it more accurate.

Thanks for your query re health since accident. Still having to sleep on my back only for another 6 months, not driving yet, and my mobility is limited still to using a Zimmer frame around the property, but starting to get around a bit now and not so much time in bed. Still in extreme pain, 225mg Morphine daily, so to much to drive anyway. Consultants hope that I should be back to where I was before accident in a further 9-15 months, so ahead of original time of 3 years. Plenty of daily Physio and exercise, both helps but makes you realise how much damage I did. Spine appears to be getting better slowly to, but they won't operate to fix clavicle which moves around freely unfortunately. Things can only get better I hope, a few falls haven't helped, and been told overdoing it. Missing driving so much, have tried to maneuverer car on drive, but severely damaged and broken shoulder won't let me turn just yet. But most breaks in my ribs are mending well, some just not got correct density in some areas still, but 28 breaks does take a while to mend!
