What to look for????

I am just about to start shopping for my dream car, I have always wanted a RRS but i am worried about buying a bad one. I am looking at a 06 / 07 year. Would anyone be able to tell me if there are any particular things/signs to look for when i am shopping.

Thanks in advance

Wales 2005 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Vesuvius Orange

I've had a few RRS, and to tell the truth, the one that I searched high and low for, full service history, low mileage, 1 owner etc was the worst of the bunch ! I had it less than 6 months ! Since then I've just gone with a 'decent looking, decent priced one'. I've had a 100k miles on clock, and it gave me not an ounce (well, not too many ounces) of problems. My present one needed TLC when I bought it, I got it done, and all seems OK so far ( 18 months later) My attitude is, you take your chances. If its a prune its a prune - simples, but there's only one way to find out !

mines a MY52, so 11 years old !  RR Sport Supercharged Vesuvius Orange 4.2 V8 First edition

Prefer RR Vouge S/C but they don't do Orange !

2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

Hi white 77, welcome to the forum. Loads of info on here about buying and what to look out for.

I hankered after a sport for years and bought a used 1 owner model privately with no warranty Shocked the car looked very straight (and is) plus the owner seemed very genuine and clearly money wasn't a problem. 21 months and 14000 miles later I have spent £1000 on servicing, £200 having the front anti roll bar bushes done, £300 replacing an EGR valve and £400 on a new alternator. Add on the £850 for a set of winter tyres (Pirelli scorpion ice Thumbs Up ) plus a grand on a set of MY 2013 alloys from Jordan @ overfinch Thumbs Up and the £500 a year for RFL Whistle they are not cheap to run

I get about 23 mpg overall (30 on a motorway run). IMHO they are fantastic cars, pretty much go anywhere, do anything. Turns heads everywhere you go, puts a smile on your face every time you get in it and I would buy another one tomorrow.

Not sure about the new ones styling, but having seen my first one in the flesh last week it's certainly growing on me - apart from the price Shocked

Look out for a good one, get a warranty if you can and expect to spend money keeping it going- a bit like any car.....

Good luck Thumbs Up Stu

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Cairns Blue

There was an SE and HSE 2005-2007. My first was SE and second HSE.
There is no concrete dos or don'ts. My advice is ignore the fact it has a service history, get the chassis number and then get a dealer to look at complete history including warrantee claims. If you buy 2006-7 car, you are in to the relms of low value expensively purchased cars and the inherent problems of failures that could cost nearly the value of the car to put right. It won't be long before cars are going to be scrapped due to being too expensive to fix. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜
