mine does the same so it must be standard, i have the same thoughts as you i would like it to rev more before it changes Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.

not sure how command shift works, but with mine, (sure it is called steptronic/triptronic?) you push gearstick over to the left for sports, and thats automatic. If you want to change gears manually, pull back once for down a gear, push forward for up a gear. To get back into auto sports you have to put it into standard drive again, then back into sports and leave stick in middle RR Sport Supercharged Vesuvius Orange 4.2 V8 First edition

On mine if you knock it over to sport mode then drop it a gear it will enter manual mode and stay in that gear until you change or knock it back to auto Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Why do you want it to rev higher? Peak power is at 4000rpm. Changing up then drops it back in to peak torque. The gearbox is designed to keep the engine between peak torque and peak power which is where you find the performance.

Command shift is manual but when dummies go to over rev the engine it will change up automatically. So in theory you can put it in 1st and drive it all day as it will also change up even though it is in first when you get near the redline. 07MY RRS TDV6

The autobox shouldnt let you kill it though so it can (i understand) still change up to protect itself. Mike

Thanks for the quick reply's, didn't realise RRSTV8 that the box was set up for maximum performance , so no need to alter it and rev more....cheers 2007 V8 HSE RRS STORNAWAY GREY |
