Hey guys, after my BMW M3 going up in smoke last week, which left me in the fortunate position of no longer having a trade in..(but i am gutted my pride and joy is no longer with me) had it 4 and half years but been looking for a rrs for some time now, I decided to take a trip to my nearest Landrover dealer, Inverness, unfortunetly they had no cars in my price range so went to see salesman to see if he could locate any through their database, to be told that landrover dont have such a database to be able to tell what other Landrover dealers have in stock second hand wise, was very surprised at this, if it actualy is the case...Cann anybody share any info on this...cheers guys.

Welcome to the RRS forum, as said above, there are plenty on the database, i wouldn't buy of that salesman now anyway, he obviously doesn't know what he is on about. Good luck with your search.

ADY 555 thanks very much for the edit, should have seen that coming been searching for some time now but as i have no car now will have to pull the finger out,problem is am too fussy and want one with all the toys as from other posts i have put on have learnt loads from the site AAA but still cant make mind up on v6 or v8, slowly swingin in favour of v8 now, just because of fact more power..Budget 20 grand but could push to 25 for the right motor and depending if the insurance company are gona be good to me..

I got rid of the fullfat because the head gasket had gone. I would have kept it and done the head if I hadn't spent £1200 trying to fix it and then being told the head gasket had gone . I had the car for 18momths and apart from doing the torque converter when I first got it everything was spot on. I did originally want a rrs but could not afford one so thats why I ended up with a 2005 fullfat, I would still have run it now if I was told the head gasket had gone straight away, it was just a case of it not being cost affective to spend approx £1500 on top of the £1200 I had already spent. So I have decided to cut my losses and get something newer with warranty and low mileage. A rrs looks very appealing at the moment, having said that I have considered another fullfat.

^^^ Never been a supporter of the argument above.

Having spent £1,200 you won't spend another £1,500 on a car you know but you'll blow a heck of a lot more on buying something else - that's the sort of lies I tell the other half.

Granted you might get a newer motor and a warranty but you'll be spending about £1,500 of the 'cost-to-change' on two years LR warranty anyway and the depreciation rate will be higher.

If you want a new car then that's fine - that's emotions so just spend the money - but, if your arguing its economically logical you really need to carefully rethink your sums!!

Its not really an argument, I just fancy a newer car and after having 6 months of hasstle I couldn't be arsed with it anymore. It felt like every time it went to the garage it came back with a new scratch and oil all over the seats also it wasn't fixed and I just slowly lost heart with it. So you are right it is not an economical decision more of I have had a gut full. Perhaps I should have worded it a bit better.
