Headlight washer jets not working

How do

Car failed its MOT today, 2 new tyres and the headlight washer jets not working.

Taken it away to sort tyres with a mate, any ideas on the washer?

Normal washers are fine, made sure headlights were on and tried 3/5 times as per google and still nothing.

Presume there's not a separate fuse?

Any ideas? Thanks

There are two motor pumps, one does washers one does lights. To access them the bumper will need to come off. I suspect it's burnt out after weeks of frost and snow froze it. Not being a sparky, am not sure if there is a seperate fuse but worth checking. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Washers will not work if they have been used within the previous 10 minutes.

Also - switching the headlights off and then back on restarts the cycle.

Switching on Terrain Response allows washers to squirt once in every three windscreen washers.

Did you get caught out with the 10 minute rule?? 07MY RRS TDV6

Check that you have plenty of water in your bottle.
With my car, if my water is low (I get a warning) then only screen jets work.

If not.... The as garrycol's advice.

........this is such a great fourm!

Loads of advice and a bit of banter to go with it!

I was completely unaware of the 10 minute 'rule' with the headlight washers and had it on my list of DIY projects to check the pump motor.

Brilliant!

Thank you.
