As the subject says i have begun my search for an RRS

Not in a great hurry as ideally i woulld like it by middle of July. For those of you who dont know i am based in Jersey in the channel islands but wish to buy a car from the mainland UK as they tend to be alot cheaper and better maintained. i will then export it back to Jersey which is a pretty straightforward process which i have done in the past.

The spec i am after is as follows:
2006 2.7Diesel HSE
Java Black
Under 65K Miles
Alloys 20-22 Inch
Full Serivice History including the cambelt change as it should be done this year i believe on this model
Preferably Black leather interior

Some may say i am little particular on spec but have thought about it for a while. Obviously i am open to suggestions if you guys have any recommendations. Whilst the car is in the UK before it is exported i plan on having the full Muduza conversion done as this is seems to be the best route to get the Autobiography look for a cheap arse like me.

My main question is to do with regards to the purchase. I am slightly nervous about buying from a private buyer and would prefer ideally to buy from a dealer as least then there would have been some sort of checks before they bought it in or taken it on PX I would presume? Whats your guys thoughts on this? Looking to spend around £18K (excluding meduza conversion) which I don’t know how realistic this is but I am sure someone here will tell me if not.

When going to view these cars what are the main things to look out for especially for a car of this age? I wish I could get a 3rd party warranty but none of the UK warranties like warranty direct seem to cover the Channel Islands.

Any help would be much appreciated?

Good luck and check out LR main dealers. As far as I know the LR approved / select warranty (for 06 car would be a select) covers CI, but you'd need to check that.

Plenty of stuff on this forum re who the better / worst dealers are so also worth checking that element. --------------------------------------------------------
