Has anyone paid out the £169 to upgrade their maps? If so any feedback? And any ideas on how to buy this cheaper than £169?

I got the email too, the update blurb did make me laugh.
I think for £169 I'm quite happy roughly getting to the right area  ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

When my sport was in Yeovil last week I asked them to update my sat nav. When I picked it up at end of day they had forgot! But they then said they did not have the new download. Also they did not know there was a new download until I showed them the email. Doesn't fill you with confidence with a main dealer! MY11 Autobiography supercharged. Santorini Black. Monaco interior. Rear screens. Privacy.
Gone MY08 Supercharged HST. Java black. Ivory premium interior. Rear screens. Privacy. Missed a lot.
Gone MY04 Discovery V8 Petrol ES Premium. Awesome.

£169 seems a very reasonable upgrade price to me, for what I've found to be a very good guidance system

I kept a TomTom for 4years or so, and when I replaced it last year I couldn't believe how much it had move on, for the sake of £150. 2016 VW Golf GTD DSG

I wonder if they bundle any satnav software / interface enhancements with the new maps or it is purely maps only...

So I phoned Hadley Green in Barnet (they will soon be my local stealer) and I got passed from reception to parts to service to someone else in serivce and then from person to person to person to person to person to person to person to person to person

Ahhh, that explains all the roadworks!

In theory I could have spoken to him, but I don't think he offers that sort of poor service in his department!

But I especially like the clipped responses as if they cannot press the TRANSFER button quick enough:

1. "I don't know why you've come though to service bookings. You need to speak to pa.." [cut direct to canned messages and music]
2. "This is parts. You need to speak to service. Putting you thr.." [cut to music]
3. "Sat what? You need a service advisor. Hold o.." [cut]
etc

Discs 2012-13 maps can do for £150inc vat

10-12MY needs to be done via dealer as a software update (dealer may charge a labour time)

13MY onwards are all done via USB stick now and can be done by yourself at home (send PM for price)

I guess I have the latest as it is a new car, but as a matter of interest how do you check what version is loaded?
