from your description mine does the same.

Hesitation is not too much of a problem compared to my old 2.7.

However, after a small hesitation it suddenly leaps forward with dramatic acceleration, it almost seems to be "all of nothing".

I have had mine a year and still have not settled into this "issue". I suspect its just the way its designed. I believe the twin turbo set up is a low speed turbo and a high speed turbo. Therefore the sudden pick up is the low speed turbo kicking in, which of course the 2.7 never had.

Martin - have you had the updates applied Question
When my car was serviced back in November, there were two updates to the gearbox which stopped the symptoms you are describing happening Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i
