New replacement CD/Radio unit not playing CDs - 2006 Sports | |
Hello, I have just joined this forum and it’s great to see members sharing their experiences. Great forum!
I had a problem with the old CD/radio unit - CDs were stuck (an error message came on the display screen, saying press eject, and when eject was pressed, the screen kept saying “checking” and nothing happened) and upon opening and checking the unit there were 3 CDs in one slot, as well as loose screws and a broken arm. A new radio/cd replacement unit was ordered from Land Rover.
The new unit has been installed but strangely, the same error message pops up on screen, and when eject is pressed the message reads “checking” and nothing happens. Exactly like the old unit!
Unless there is some diagnostic issue unrelated to the radio unit itself that brings up the error message again, I don’t understand why it’s not working.
The CDs are now loading but don’t play! Funnily enough, the radio plays OK so it’s not a speaker / wiring issue. Further, the cd/radio unit itself is quite easy to install and there aren’t too many wires that connect into it so it’s not likely to be a wiring issue. So, I wonder what could be wrong? Anyone, any suggestions/advice/tips, please?
Any help will be very much appreciated!
