Only in GB!

Only in Great Britain could you see such an event like Baroness Thatcher's funeral - what a occasion and worth every penny the country spent on her funeral. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

The protesters disgust me, fair enough if you don't like her, but to protest at someone's funeral!!

Scum.

I'm a bit young to know the full Thatcher story, but it's pretty out of order protesting at someones funeral, that's somebodys mother for crying out load.

On a side note, how on earth can the government justify spending 8-10 million pound on 1 persons funeral Shocked Current: 06 RR Sport HSE TDV6, Bonatti grey, black leather. Defender 90 pick up. Vito 110cdi

Because we do it better than any other country and this leads to tourism. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

^^^^ I wonder why the UK is so deep in the Censored then Whistle It baffels me how we can find 10 million to spend on one funeral, but can't find money for other very important life saving situations. Mr. Green

A big chunk is coming from Maggie's estate........plus as VA says in a round about way it will probably indirectly generate more than that in tourism and media buzz.

Ok I get that, but I still find it hard to believe the country could pull in 8-10 million pound from tourism from one persons funeral. Current: 06 RR Sport HSE TDV6, Bonatti grey, black leather. Defender 90 pick up. Vito 110cdi

MisterAdam - but look at the bigger picture, one person's funeral but a person who was recognised Worldwide. Will be happy if 1/2 that was spent on me! Wink 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

I do see the bigger picture because I don't have love/hate for Thatcher, lucky for me I'm not old enough to of been effected by anything she or her party did or didnt do, so no emitonal attachment for me like so many people seem to have.

Maybe I'm just a minge bag when it comes to funerals Laughing Current: 06 RR Sport HSE TDV6, Bonatti grey, black leather. Defender 90 pick up. Vito 110cdi

I'm also too young to remember her as PM, but im sure what she did/didnt do has affecetd us all greatly in the way this country is now, you cant have someone in power for that long and think it wont affect future generations

Just because you're young doesn't mean you haven't been effected by Maggie Thatcher.

You're just a young minge bag! (whatever a minge bag is!) Wink 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

We should be proud people are able to protest and at a funeral such as this!

Right or wrong in the message or the forum (eg a funeral) - the fact they are able to do it i think is a testament to the UK

As for the hatred for her...thats not a funeral day topic, but we shouldn't force views down people necks - we should all be free to get on with it Mike
