Agree they have exaggerated but still ended up in serious condition Sad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

I looks like he drove straight down the slope, probably too fast and picked up speed. He did the right thing by keeping it pointed down hill. You can see the wheel skid marks a few feet behind the firemen. Then as he is heading for the bank completely locked up he takes his foot off the brakes to gain grip and tries to turn left to avoid the bank. At this point he hits hard with the front right wheel/wing which is why he was the driver is the most hurt.

If you look at the roof the firemen cut off it looks ok, with no collapsed window pillars, which is what is normally buckled when a 90 falls on its roof.

So based on my complete amateur view, he did not roll onto his roof.

Bet it still bloody hurt though Sad Jon Witts

Definitely a " hill near Fulking " that's Fulking hell then - Yes bad taste; sorry Bow down

More seriously its why experienced off-roaders don't go out solo and why traversing or vertical ascent or descents should only be tackled when traction is known and driver's very experienced.

Very true and why reading the daily mail is a waste of life.

Accidents happen - that is life im afraid, lets hope people dont try and ban another thing because of it...however sad it might be. Mike
