No Drive

This has only happened a few times but when I have gone to accelerate nothing happens, my foot moves the peddle down but no drive, no increase engine revs either, then all of a sudden it picks up again and then no problem.

It doesn't happen from standstill just when driving normally and then want to accelerate a bit faster.

Anyone else had this, could it be some sort of exaggerated turbo lag? https://www.plus.net/refer.php?strReferral...d093cba6a7

I have had similar, usually on the motorway. I wonder if it is a symptom of the EGRs working - I believe that when lightly loaded / constant throttle the EGRs opens to recirculate exhaust gas for environmental reasons. When you ask for power the engine is still breathing "dirty" air so it takes a moment for the EGRs to close and the engine to get back into power making mode.

Either that or the throttle potentiometer is showing signs of illness. I'm having my transmission oil changed next week so I'll see if that makes a difference too as I'm finding it slow to pick up at times. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I've not had the problem on the motorway, usually when engine is relatively cold not long after starting and quite low speeds less than 30mph.

Strange one really, trouble is if I take it into garage they wont find anything as it usually does it once and then not at all for the rest of the day.

Guess I will just have to see how it goes and if it gets more frequent get it checked out then. https://www.plus.net/refer.php?strReferral...d093cba6a7

Is it under warranty?

It might be worth a visit to a dealer/independent to check if any fault codes are stored that might suggest the throttle position sensor, brake light switch etc have an intermittent fault.

You might want to try unplugging the throttle pedal and/or the brake light switch etc in case there is a 'dry' joint in one or other.

It is under Landrover extended warranty so might let them take a look, although was hoping not to use the warranty in case I decide to sell it and could stop monthly warranty payments, but wouldn't be able to if I made a claim.

Not sure where I will find plugs for throttle/brake lights to try unplugging... https://www.plus.net/refer.php?strReferral...d093cba6a7
