Land Rover Warranty and Lower Arms

How many people on here have had failed lower arms and bushes?

Land Rover Warranty are not covering theses items as they are saying they are wear and tear. I completely disagree and are saying that its failed components that are not fit for purpose. The car has only done 55,000 miles. I'm going to take this further if I have to as I am absolutely fuming with Land Rover and would not be treated like this from Audi or BMW.

Has anyone else on here had problems with failing lower arms and bushes?

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Cairns Blue

I wouldn't waste your time. My car had 27 ball joints and arms fitted in the first 18 months under warrenty to try and resolve the front end knock. It's had two pairs of ball joints since and has covered 48000. You can fight but won't get anywhere as I did. Easier just to pay and fix it. I had similar issue with my B5 RS4, needing ball joints at every MOT, and Audi wouldn't listen either. It's physics that a car that is 2.7 tonnes with foot wide rubber on each corner is going to wear something out and ball joint and bush is weakest link. Big Cry
After all the failures I asked if LR would give lifetime cover on joints and was told No with a laugh Thumbs Up 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

They replaced them when the vehicle was under Manufacturers warranty but now it is under Land Rover Approved warranty they are refusing as the approved extended warranty is not as good as the manufacturers warranty so they tell me despite it having land rover stamped all over the warranty booklet!! What makes me laugh is the two pages at the back listed 'Complaints and Arbitration'! It goes on to say 'In the unlikely event of a complaint' i think this should be worded 'In the HIGHLY LIKELY event of a complaint'!.

They were changed the middle of last year and I cannot see that these parts are fit for purpose under the sale of goods act as the car hasn't even been off road! If it had of then they would of supposedly worn out quicker!

£680 + VAT they want to repair it, I am going after Land Rover for this bill as I strongly believe that these parts are not as strong as they should be.

I had approved warranty on a discovery and one year bushes were covered and the next they were removed from the policy - like i say, standard now Mike

I asked for mine to be replaced on last 2 services - both within 3 year warranty and was turned down due to "characteristic" but expect they will want me to pay for them next service now I am on extended warranty Sad

Seems to be a postcode lottery getting them done Rolling Eyes

One of the main reasons I took the extended warranty was to cover this so Censored again Evil or Very Mad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

I think Land Rover make it up as they go along! In my view the warranty isn't worth the paper its written on, its just another con to get nearly a £1,000 out of you a year for the 'priviledge' of owning a Range Rover! Seeing as this is happening quite a lot to a lot of people can we not get together and report it to watchdog or something?

My warranty is up for renewal at the end of march, will i be renewing it.....Will i heck! I'm getting rid of the car after this, I'm done with Land Rover products! I even went to the launch of the new Range Rover Vogue as our company was on for buying 4 of them, seemed a lovely car on the drive to Eastnor castle off road course then they change you into the diesel one to go around the off road course and the one we had only had 6,000 miles on the clock and on the road drive to the off road course low and behold the dreaded clunk reared its ugly head! All the money that goes into research and development and they cant sort something as simple as bushes. Perhaps they should stipulate that the car can go off road but by doing so you will cost yourself more money. It's not a rugged 4x4 its a pansy piece of Censored that should be wrapped in cotton wool. One of the responses I had was 'the roads have a lot of pot holes at the moment' Its an off road vehicle for christ sake. I'm going back to german made cars as they are better made, better value, better customer service better back up and better warranty. Audi, BMW, Merc knock spots off Jaguar Land Rover and although they are trying to improve there customer service (apparently) they will never be in the same league as the 'Proper' car manufacturers Censored

but the warranty would be worth it the event of a major component failure or an item that is not classed as wear and tear. Sophie Alltoft

Are you saying that the lower arms were replaced, under warranty, less than a year ago? If so, they should still be covered by the 1 year parts warranty irrespective of any other warranty situation. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

It's a funny situation really - last year I had the front ARB bushes changed under the Approved warranty. This year they wouldn't cover the lower arm bushes on the same warranty. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
