I have been considering a few 911, 2003/2004 996s recently and test drove one yesterday. A beautiful car, great service history etc. but both the clutch and accelerator were much heavier than I expected, my right leg ached after a 40 minute drive.

cant comment on the 996 clutch, but any older one has a very heavy feel.

Cheers Dave - you're right there some scary stories about the intermediate shaft going bang but apparently the later 3.6 ones are better.

NP - that's where I test drove the one with the uber heavy clutch and throttle. Youre right, he has some nice cars.

I had a 2003 996 C4S and it didn't have heavy pedals. Very nice car but I should have got the turbo.....

Hi, neither the clutch nor the throttle should be ' Heavy' on any recent Porsche. Only a GT model car should have what might appear as a heavier action but that is the nature of the type of clutch and plate material.
