EGR blanking and fuel consumption

I have now had my EGR valves fitted by my local independent land rover specialist which instantly cured the lack of power at low revs. but my fuel consumption seems to have increased when i was led to believe it should get better. Any thoughts on why this has happened?

It might be down to the colder weather, vehicle taking longer to warm up.

2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Bonatti Grey

Hmm I blanked the valves on my 2.7hse and fuel economy went from 26 to 28 mpg average. It has now dropped to about 27, I believe this is due to the colder weather. There should be no need for a remap as far as I know, though I'm told there can be problems and errors with newer (2007 onwards) cars after blanking.

No need for a remap Thumbs Up

Post 2007 cars cannot have a simple blanking kit, they require a CEL fix re-program (something BAS was offering a while back). RRS gone

United Kingdom

I have a TDV6 and was getting around 20mpg pure short journeys and local driving, since the winter kicked I'm averaging 17mpg.
