Heated wheel - how hot ?

Anyone with a heated wheel - how hot does yours get ?

Ive just got mine fitted last week, its does get lukewarm and certainly better than nothing at 5am at minus 5, but dosnt seem to get as warm as my old FFRR wheel

did they turn them down recently ?

is it the ECU on the wheel that controls the heat ? (wonder if thats faulty)

thanks cheers

Mine gets a bit to hot personally. As already mentioned above 9 and 3 get hot first and the rest of the wheel follows closely behind. Waiting for a cold morning to try it Thumbs Up MY 11 RRS Luxury Stornoway Grey Ivory/Black leather contrast stitching Logic7 side steps roof DVD system for the grand daughter. mmm...defo a bit more warmer at 3 and 9, will have to compare at dealer with a new car and see if ive got a dodgy wheel

retrofit isnt cheap unless you can pick up 2nd parts

new wheel, rotary coupler if before MY10, new switchpack LH side with heater

about £500 of parts brand new from dealer and £100 labour or fit yourself

you need to run a live 10A feed from somewhere like cig lighter, so strip lots of dash away

quite a few threads on Disco forums as a very popular mod cheers

yes, certainly makes more sense as a £250 option (whatever it is)

but once youve had one for a few winters you wouldnt want to be without ....we are spoilt with the comfort and heated gizmos these days Smile cheers

Well, that was easy . Just confirmed during a visit to the dealer that new steering wheels get as warm as the one I have just fitted

I guess they turned down the heat over the years....certainly pre 2006 Full Fat heated wheel felt warmer than the new cars

but of course, its still its nice on a cold morning to at least have a heated wheel versus old style cold hard leather. Its Really adds the traditional luxury Range Rover feel to an older Disco or RRS

thanks Dan @ Duckworths for helping out cheers
