Also what are the differences regarding the tailgait on a pre and post 2010? 91 BMW 850CSI

Ive looked at this too, OEM wont fit as the design is different on the 10+ as it doesnt have the raised bit in the middle like the 05-09

Ive not found an aftermarket one either but would be interested if anyone else has seen such a thing?

Suppose it would have to be moulded around the raised bit or come as a 3 piece

It's not pre/post MY10, but MY11.

MY11 and prior had the old two piece design.
MY12+ The one shown above is the electric one piece tailgate.

I don't think you will be able to replicate it due to the nature of the two piece design on 05-11 cars

Can you retrofit the electric tailgait? 91 BMW 850CSI

Need someone more technical than me to confirm....but I can't see why not, but I guess it depends on if the panals align, the roof hinge mechanism etc....also can see it being big $$'s to do  ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

for what its worth, i dont like the silver strip, if i was going for one of the current models the i would have it colour coded!

Didn't have the old 2 piece tailgate, so never missed it.
Electric one is great , just wish it had a remote close as currently it can only be done by pressing a button on the bootlid itself (a pain if you accidently knock the boot open button when you're stationary ). It can be opened, by either the remote, the dashboard or the boot itself. ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Didn't mean to cause any trouble amongst the 2012+ owners.I realise 'awful' was a bit too strong to describe the silver strip, in the future I will refrain myself from using such language.

Nothing wrong with the heavy, manual 2 peice tailgate, it gives the arms a good workout.
