One must always buy on condition. A higher mileage vehicle that has been scrupiously serviced and had money spent on it when needed is a better bet than a lower mileage with so-so history.

Makes sense, I loved the guide that was on here - saved it to my phone and ran the tests on it, the car drove really nice and no weird sounds the 120k just scared me off, I'm looking at a 70k example this week, so hope to get the right one soon. Not many for sale here in NI - I was even thinking to go to England and boat it home to my little patch.

As RRSTDV8 said, buy on condition and history.

Yea - good advice, I've my Honda CRV well into 120k and because I service only with Honda - I have had it NEVER skip a beat, its in top condition and honestly I'm expecting it good for another 100k at least. But I'm well due an upgrade and the Sport is the best thing I can see on the road for the 17k I have to spend.

All land rover seem to be better used and miles on them, than sat around - eg lower mile cars (ignore new ones obviously) just seem more unhappy a lot of the time. Mike

lol says the man with the 2012 Cheers guys, I'll rest up on this and go ahead with looking at ones with the work done on them. Some of the <3.0 had the work done on the belt etc, so that would save a few grand in work I guess and they are still going which is a bonus.

Totally agree that condition and history is everything, there is too much of a stigma attached to cars over 100k, this is nothing now for modern vehicles. I run a fleet of minibuses and own a garage and our vehicles are serviced 2000 miles before due dates and have any repairs they need doing before they fail. Our highest mileage vehicle is a Mercedes vito with nearly 500k on the clock and believe me you would not know it. |

2013 actually (when I had it)...I don't have a sport any more and get a new one every 12-13 months anyway but mileage is definitely less important, any land rover standing around for a spell is never a happy one. Mike 2014 Facelift Discovery |

Give me a car that's been regularly used with around average mileage and well serviced - I avoid the 'low mileage' one lady owner rubbish. They've sat around so chances are they will be condensation in oil, sticky brakes, sticky ARB and/or steering pump seals |
