Chock the front wheels. Just put it into off road height and jack at the jacking point at the rear of the chassis rail where the hole is. Then position axle stands under the chassis rail preferably with a wood block to protect the rail. You will find all sorts of nonsense on the forum about putting it in access height, turning on the hazards and opening the rear hatch - none of it is correct.

personally wouldn't bother to use wood on the RRS.

Using wood when jacking is more to prevent rust, as you don't damage the paint and expose the metal to the elements. Granted it's hardly going to ruin the car overnight, but it's better to prevent than cure! (You lose nothing by using a lump of wood and dependant on your jack you get a better grip on the chassis, reducing the chance of the jack slipping) |

you certainly do, with normal cars, but the RRS just has those rails which doesn't show rust on the outside. |

Jack up the rear frame and place on Jack stands then jack the rear control arm of the side you want to work on. If you're just jacking up one side at a time then chock the opposite side front wheel or you can do both if you are nervous. |
