i got a flyer from my local dealer today, inviting me to book a test drive in the new FFRR on their "unveiling" weekend. the next closest dealer took a load of potential customers to Marr Hall, a 5 star luxury golf course/hotel!! has anyone had any cracking days out courtesy of the dealer? (i havent had an off road day out of mine for years!)

Only on my first LR product so no freebies for me...at my rate of buying cars I might be eligible for a brolly in 2036! 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I've bought around 20 new BMWs (company cars) from the same garage and never been invited on their golf day or anything else.

Ripon LandRover gave me a bottle of red and white wine in a presentation box, a decent size FFRR model for the boy and my daughter received a cuddly toy.

Hmm i seem to fair a bit better than you lot You need to brush up on your negociating skills, i got a RRS to play out in for the day, 2 L/R experience days, free rubber mats, free fitting of my own supplied side steps, free fitting of mud flaps (dealer supplied @ trade price) and a full tank of diesel, plus a discount on my first service Also got a bunch of flowers (for the wife honest) on collection of my vehicle. And i got 7.5% discount on the full purchase price of my new motor. But i am a true yorkshire man So i'd of thought the scots should do better. |

Mine weren't part of the deal as such, they were handed over when the car was delivered to my door.

I should have clarified on the first post, while I was happy with the initial purchase price and extras chucked in, I really ment post purchase, I usually buy closest to home (apart from a few Dutch imports when the pound was actually worth something!), as I like to get the car serviced at the supplying dealer. It is just a pity that our local dealer doesn't go that extra mile and organise days out or proper new vehicle launches. I am more tempted to buy further afield now, as customer bashes are more likely to forge closer ties (I have in the past taken clients to industry award nights, send the odd bottle of whiskey etc) for our dealer principal to send out a letter asking if I want to book a test drive , when the one 50 miles away is having a launch buffet etc at a country club , is a bit lacking in customer relations......

When buying my used RRS, Conwy Landrover were pretty fair, they threw in a set of floor mats, changed snagged seat belts, replaced snagged door seal, addressed all scuffed wheels and paintwork, and knocked £1K off the window price.
