Tragic accident on school run

Shocking incident today and proof a 4x4 on ice is just as lethal as a car with 2wd Shocked

Sad indeed.
"(D)riven along a bridle path" caught my eye - BOAT or cheeky short-cut?

Australia 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black

Sad but why? Its a senseless waste of a life.

Bridle path = horses

Road = cars

Driving an Aygo on a bridle path is not very smart. Even a horse would probably have slipped. Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6

i wonder if they needed to drive down it for access to their property or something and the news reporters are calling it a bridleway, instead of a farmer access road or something

Its tragic waste of life, which could well have been avoided

I did not realise they were driving along a bridle path in a car - I think the article has been revised Shocked

Still sad though even though they should not have been on a bridleway in those conditions they have paid the ultimate price Sad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Very very sad.

I think it was the road that accessed the cotttages at the end of it, so the only way to get to their house.

My wife has an Aygo not much to them !! Paul

if you google map the area there is some cottages near the quarry mentioned, these are up a lane near the river, there is no streetview, but it has photos linked to the area and the road looks to be a access road to a car park for the monsal trail and the width and river looks very similar to whats in the report
