Does this help?
http://www.rrsport.co.uk/gallery/albums/us...emoval.pdf 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

It's not too difficult - guide for D3 here (it's identical under the bonnet).

(edit: Gah! Beaten like a red-headed step-child!)

You're welcome. If you've a warm garage, today's probably a good day to do it.

IIRC, an OEM alternator from LR may be priced on the basis you return the old one. There are non-OEM alternatives which are cheaper, and without the exchange requirement, so if you've electrical skill, you may find that diode pack replacement will restore functionality on your old unit. I'm sure there's a post on such on the D3 site.

As you said, getting the Fan undone is the hardest bit. BIG hammer needed and the faith that it is Left Hand Thread. Made an adapter to hold pulley (10mm spanners kept disappearing into the undertray). Anyone in Derby/Burton area wants to borrow it you're more than welcome.
Will load an image as soon as I suss out how to do it. Confused
Also ebay LOADS dearer than Hunters main dealer. Got the 500400 for £201+VAT. Cheap as chips.
