Can anyone help , a message keeps coming up on the dash of my rrs saying driver intervene ? It has only happened a couple of times during normal driving , cruise control off etc . Any ideas

Do you have Advanced Cruise Conteol (ACC) the one that adjusts you distance from the car in front. I think the message could be related to that.

Was you using cruise control ? if so definitely related to ACC which is normal.
Sorry just re-read your post - I have ACC but have never come across that fault - message without the cruise control on - sorry. 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

Note you have exact same model and year as me. Good choice . What you describe only happens on my RRS if I switch on 'Forward Alert' - it is the switch on the dash just to the right of the lock/unlock buttons. Can be turned on independently of the ACC and gives a warning tone and the dash message you describe if you get within a set distance of the car in front. Its on page 153 of my manual. Check Forward Alert is not on? If its a fault with the ACC you should see 'Driver Intervene' briefly and then 'Cruise Not Available'. Noted from other posts that this is usually caused by a break in the ACC sensor wire. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

cheers Paddi , the button was on so i switched it off and the message has now gone . Now for something else i had the tow bar electrics fitted a 2 weeks ago and now the rear parking censors have stopped working and today the front passenger indicator stopped working (could be the bulb ) but i was thinking with both going at the same time there might be a short on the new tow bar electrics ???

I guess we have all done things like that. Well done on having the balls to own up to it, Haven't tackled the towing hitch wiring yet but it is on my list, Bit of an obvious suggestion but could you take it back to the establishment that fitted the wiring?
