He Guy,

How much more pants do you think the fuel economy would be

I have sold the Audi Allroad 2.7T as this was very very heavy on fuel (especially with my style of driving) so what do you expect to achieve on your RRS

I'm guessing i'll get about 16mph.

The diesel Audi I was refering to was the R10 which has just won Le Mans ! Laughing

Question

I was told by my dealer, that if I use 19'' for winter, in case of any dirt or snow getting between brakepads and rims I can have my rims scratched and brakepads broken... They are lying or what? 2014 Mercedes-Benz S500

Guy, I have a set of HSE 19's sat in our garage at the moment. Absolutley spotless with Pirelli Scorpion tyres on which still look brand new but have covered approx. 3k miles.

How much are these on eBay for as i might be selling mine? Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

I didn't have any such warning - also if you check the size of your spare wheel you'll see that it has a 19" rim - they couldnt fit the 20" into the spare wheel carrier. If they supply a 19" spare to supercharged cars then there's no reason to believe that there would be problems using it..

Besides I can't see how snow or dirt could do so much damage to a brake pad? it's on the inside of the brake assembly and isn't it mostly protected from the rotating rim by the metal housing of the caliper?? I think they're talking a strange kind of Russian my friend.. Wink

So all you Supercharged owners, now I've committed to switch over to the dark side, what is ownership really like ?

Apart from spending half your life at petrol stations are you still pleased with your choice ?

Noddy - notice you have a 59 Routemaster! Where I live there is a bus museum about 400 yards from my front door - they have hundreds of classic buses!

Guy - owning a RRS is better than ...! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

..ah.. yes, actually the Routey is more of a party bus than anything else, we bought it 10 years ago, stripped the seats out & installed a mahogany bar! so far I've managed to avoid turning into a bus spod and don't get to museums much, but I'll bear it in mind, ta!

if you boys think the S/C is thirsty you should try a trip across the country in one of these babies - 9.8ltr straight six diesel, 42mph with both feet on the loud pedal and 9mpg is the best we've done.. and that was without a full load of beer and too many fat lads on board..

but its all worth it to be able to merrily chug past old ladies with bags of shopping waiting at bus stops..
