Mud Flaps

So my new RRS was delivered 2 weeks ago without the rear mud flaps fixed as apparently the service department ordered the wrong ones !!!!! Twisted Evil as I have a AB kit on the car and they obviously knew about this they didn't get the correct ones in. So I took delivery and they said that they would order the correct ones and then send a technician out to fit them for me...... Guess what, they didn't and wanted me to drive back to their dealership (which is 60 miles away) so that they could fit them on as the rear wheels need to be taken off for fitting of the mud flaps. Question Question

The mud flaps arrived today by post as requested last week and thought that I would have a look at fitting them myself. After reading the instructions for about 10 minutes I got to work on fitting them onto the rear number. After 20 mins of sorting this out, they look good and I am very pleased with them.

Question is
1 Why did the service department order the incorrect mud flaps in the first place when they knew exactly what car I ordered.
2 Why did they state that the rear wheels to be removed for fitting. Which they clearly don't
3 Why did they state also that it would take 45 minutes to fit and the cost was in the region of around £80...

Shall I send them an invoice for £80 for fitting them myself and see what they say.

Just a thought It is what it is and I am what I am....

1. They're a Land Rover dealer and thus performing as expected
2. See above
3. Ditto 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Thanks Kav, I think I will send it on Monday.

Didn't realise that most dealers are like that. I suppose that's why most of you call them stealers... Razz
Cheers It is what it is and I am what I am....

A lot of stealers don't know that the flaps are different on the A/B Confused They should i know but they may of been some breakdown in communication between the sales guy and the parts dept that actually ordered them, either way i don't think sending them the invoice will get you anywhere, more chance of negotiating a discount on your first service Thumbs Up

Thanks ADDY. Thumbs Up I did speak to the sales guy and he said to get an invoice out to him but to be honest he doesn't know his arse from his elbow and I think I will send an email requesting a discount on the first service as well as trying my luck for the invoice as well. His words are lost in the system with this particular dealer in Kent though.
Cheers again It is what it is and I am what I am....

Same happened with mine. LPR sent them in the post to me and told me fit them yourself! Cheeky Censored . Easy job though and was no problem. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.
