Trunk opening a problem

Should opening the trunk on the RRS be a problem.
My mom finds it quite heavy and hates using the trunk on the 2007 91 BMW 850CSI

I had this with mine but new pair of rams helped the opening, but made closing it harder. Especially for vertically challenged other half. She taken to using glass opening but its a pain when car is dirty. Mine has just developed a self closing issue which guess is a lock problem. Rolling Eyes 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱

One of the reasons why L/R moved over to the electric tailgate, not enough strong women driving sports.
