England

The black box has one big benefit - my son's friend over the road hit ice on a rural back road before xmas and rolled his car through a hedge and was unable to get signal but was able to walk to a farm with no injuries - when he returned to his car the police were there because the black box alerted the insurer who called out the police to check he was ok Thumbs Up

In contrast some years ago a member of staff rolled her car on ice into a ditch, her phone flew out of the car, she was trapped upside down in freezing cold water and had to keeping pressing the horn to eventually attract passing cars who could not see her in the ditch - very frightening Shocked

My dilemma now is pay £2000+ for a policy with black box or £700 without - to start with I only plan to let him drive with one of us accompanying him because although he passed his test he is not fit to go solo yet IMHO Rolling Eyes Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!
