Powerfold Mirror Judder

Does anyone know how to access the powerfold mirrors to apply lubrication to stop judder?

The offside mirror was juddering a while ago, took into dealer and they quickly oiled or greased it in a few minutes and has been okay since, they told me you have to get right under the mirror to do it...

Since then the nearside mirror is now juddering and I was hoping to do it myself, as it is now out of warranty, but cant see how to access anything under the mirror.. Confused Arrived - RRSport 2016 HSE SDV6 HSE

A quick squirt with a silicone lubricant with a long nozzle attachment under the moveable part of the mirror housing where it joins the fixed part of the housing usually does the job on mine and lasts months. FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

When the first one started juddering I tried squirting WD40 around where it moves, it didn't cure it, however I had lost the long tube nozzle thingy so maybe I didn't get any into the right place, will get a nozzle and try again, so thanks Bradders. Smile Arrived - RRSport 2016 HSE SDV6 HSE

WD40 will break down any grease you have in there, you're better off using a silicone or white grease like Bradders says Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Ah, yes, I thought WD40 was similar but you are right it isnt... Embarassed

The most popular one I have found doing a search seems to be 3-IN-ONE Professional Silicone Spray from places like Halfords etc.
Not sure if they come with the plastic tube nozzle though.

Will take a look next time I go there.
