United Kingdom 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Zermatt Silver
It just gets better and better

Hi,

Does anyone else find that the car just grows in their affection?

I bought mine as a bit of a knee jerk reaction to the kids no longer fitting in a sports car.

I chose the Sport instead of FF as I did not want to go to from low, fast and grippy to high, slow and wallowy.

I have now covered 12,000 fault free miles in it, and each journey (excluding crawl round busiest part of M25 each day) my admiration for the car grows and grows. Maybe I am getting old but that driving position is superb, the engine rumbles nicely and it's ability to cover long journeys and leave you fresh is the best I have had.

I have found as the miles increase the engine improves getting quieter and more responsive. I purchased it at 3 years and 13k miles old. I suspect that the previous owner only used it for short distances and it was not really run in and perhaps a little coked up.

I have gone from Luke Warm about the car to struggling to think of another car I would rather have.

Maybe my thoughts will change when something goes wrong, but as a way of getting from A to B - it is quite simply the best I have had.

Cheers

Graham Graham

I'm looking forward to getting mine.

I always had sporty-type cars - BMW 335i, Z4M etc - so moving to a 4x4 was quite a step. I first discovered a fondness for a Land Rover Defender 110 and a Discovery 3 on safari in Southern Africa (spent several weeks with each) and eventually bought a Discovery 4 for myself which I enjoyed for 2 years. I changed that because while it was an amazing family car and mile-muncher, it wallowed too much for my liking so I moved on to the Evoque.

The Evoque is a great little 4x4 but after 11 months, I want a larger boot back so I've bought myself a RRS.

Hopefully I'll enjoy it as much as you do! Thumbs Up

The longer I have it the more I like it

I just was not expecting it to grow on me like this.

I do realise by writing this I am tempting the gremlins, but am enjoying it hugely Smile Graham

Quite understandable. Owning a TDV8 versus a TDV6 is like reaching for the Anadin bottle in the morning and subsequently realising that you've swallowed several Viagra tablets instead.

France 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

Bought my 2012 SDV6 HSE with full set of options, (arabica leather all over, dark grey colour), after 6 years in BMW 530xd which engine had been tuned and acceleration and torque were fantastic, and sold the BMW with some 'fear' (yetfor 18kEuros) I would regret it as it was running faultless still after 170k km...but since I have the Range, which I have done about 15k km in , I have no regret Thumbs Up . I do Cardiff to Paris and back quite often and have to go to dirt roads to old house in champagne ardennes in France. Great piece of british engineering got to say [and coming from a french man who had been driving German cars last 20 years ...Smile ] Whistle
Just ca't wait for the new one with 400kg less... Bow down

Yes, I have to agree, the RRS is a fantastic car.

I get a kick everytime I drive mine and now that it has 6k on the clock it is loosening up nicely.

Fuel consumption has improved from370 miles range on a full tank when I picked it up to 433 miles per tank when I filled up yesterday.

Jim

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

ive come to the sport from a r33 gtr skyline, first impressions WOW why oh why did i not do it sooner, i dont have a smashed spine im not worried when i see a speed bump, and the toys it has make wires drapped over the dash a thing of the past. Yet to tow with it so i cant say how well it does it, taken it off road and i was impressed
