Thanks for the reply, I've been on the Disco 3 site and the elements are about £26 and £30 for base and back respectively, so not too bad. That's from 'The Large One' on that forum. Seems pretty reasonable, just need to strip the seat cover, find out which element it is, (they are wired in series so when one goes the other doesn't work), then get the leather back on. I've been quoted £50 to get it back on plus a small repair to the base bolster.

Sounds like quite a tecchy job. I have a BM too which doesn't have heated seats. This time of year you do really miss them. It was only a £200ish option when new so cant understand why it wouldn't be specified. Anyways I have seen these retro fit kits but dont know anyone that would be able to fit it. Even just to have it on the driver seat, dont care about the passenger! |

On YouTube is a video showing how to fit retro heated seats, including taking off the leather covers and reinstalling. It makes it look 'do-able' although I'll probably get an upholsterer to refit the covers. Search "retro fit heated seats" and one of the top results is an Audi A3 cab fit. |
