RRS Boy :Thanks for all that info! Smile love the enthusiasm!

OK, well today i have been doing alot of investigation work!, on both of the models i found, and, i am leaning towards the :

TDV8 2007 07 in Black with full Black Leather (no wood trim, silver inserts!), Electric sunroof, with 64k, OEM ordered 6 DVD / 2x TV screens in H/R's package too that i did'nt rememberis fitted, FLRSH all up to date, 12mts MOT & 6mts Tax too.

This is because...may sound silly i know but...

I have researched the current owner, for the last 3years he has owned her, very top man in management and very helpfull indeed, has hidden nothing and very open and generally a helpfully man, know where the Sport was bought new from (Guy Salmon, London), who bought new, when, know all the service history is main dealer only from Guy Salmon, London, have also spoken with two friends at my local LR dealers and they have looked up on there database for any nasty issues or warranty work etc the Sport may have had in the past, was nice of them to bother for me and nothing has come up, vosa checked the log book and MOT history, all true to his word with no advisorys, ever. All the MOT's fall into place with servicing and history miles etc, and am generally happy all is ok with the paperwork and servicing side/legal of things if you get my drift...

Next, i am swaying for this one as she is totally and utterly bog standard!, and by that i dont mean in spec, i mean no fancy lights or grille, no 22's or side steps or clear indicators, or a Black badge!, no tow bar, nothing...(not that i have anything against that at all!, just saying its nice to see for a change i guess), just as standard as she would have come as new!, so get the feeling the Sport's a good one thats been unabused and never been off road with the two owners she has had.

Things seem right, then, when my friend at LR checked for me, as the Sport had Approved warranty on when the last owner bought and he did indeed let run out (and, never has a claim been made in the history), i have, and this is timing or what, 8 days from today to get another "Approved" one, or i can settle for the one thats over the 5year mark, in 8 days!, so...what do i do?....rush and go get, book in for the 2hr check and go for the Approved one?, or just go for a WW or WD one with the wear and tear, ice and eco options?...any help / advice is more than welcome and have had had so much help here already that i'm not too sure that much more can be said, mainly on this 8 days i have lol...

Thats all for now, Would like a 2010 one, but for the extra £16000 its going to cost me is it worth it?, i'll have a TDV8, ok not the new one but i'm sure i'll have a ball driving and maybe next time a newer one!, am i right?..lol...sorry to go on...

Thanks for now

Smile

I can't tell you which to get, but

"but for the extra £16000 its going to cost me (for the new interior) is it worth it?"

my answer would actually be YES!

Sounds like a done deal

If aftermarket warranty then I'd go for WD

Just remember you're getting into the age/mileage that most warranty companies start to add restrictions (LR approved included).
Mine is WD, and I think once I'm now over 65k the % of the part cost covered is reduced.

Also, never accept the 1st quote, let them sweat for 2 or 3 days Thumbs Up RRS gone

...Never! Smile

Yep, hopefully sort the deal out tomorrow. Wink

Have been looking at your thread again awd man, and i really hope i can make mine look half as nice as yours!, infact, i think its the main reason i have stuck out for the Black!...even if i know what a pain the ass they are to keep clean.

I had best find out if mine (hopefully) is Java or San Black?...

Would you mind a PM for some advice pls?, mainly how to get and keep that shine, and the lowering and a few nice bits you have, also this BAS remap!.

Cheers for now.

Hints on keeping it shiny:

Once a year I have it machine polished by my local bodyshop, this I find keeps the swirls at bay and is well worth the £150.

Cleaning:

I jet wash the car totally before going anywhere near it with a sponge and bucket (2 bucket method of course)
I use Meguires NXT car shampoo, I've always found it superb and see no reason to change.
Rinse with the jet washer
Towel dry the car then leave to stand for an hour
Then I wax it with Swissvax Mirage (again a personal choice but on black cars I think it returns the best depth).
The alloys are coated with Gtechnik C5

Then to keep on top of it between waxes, I use a detailing spray (Mequires QD or Turtlewax)

Obviously tyre black is paramount on a black car and I always use a gloss coating which i personally think looks better. (Turtlewax wet and black)

The map is done by Bell Autos and is just awesome Mr. Green RRS gone

Take a test drive of the pre facelift TDV8 and the facelifted TDV8 and then make your own mind up and see if you think its worth the extra ££££'s. If its down to your budget then DON'T try the facelift model, because if it is out of your budget to start with, you will never be happy with the pre facelift choice. Big Cry

2nd'd I went from a 57TDV8 which I already loved to a 10TDV8 which is awesome, there is no comparison Exclamation 10 TDV8 Santorini
