New range rover owner.
I have bought a 1995 4.5 hse p38 I wish to change the front to look like the range rover sport can anyone advise what year and models I need as doner for correct parts to fit. Someone has tried to facelift mine prior to purchase and failed the lights don't meet the wings on the sides and the bonnet won't shut because grill is in the way they've used existing p38 bonnet and bumper.
I know this can be done as I saw a 1986 model that had been changed but the owner bought it like that so couldn't help me

Hi Taximan, I'm not an expert, but i'm sure one will be along soon.

My first thought is that the model you are looking for is 2005 to 2009, I can't see it being the later model cars.

My second thought is to post the same question on a Range Rover forum rather than a RRS forum.

My third thought is the RRS is based on the D3, maybe headlights and grill from a later model Range Rover will fit better than Sport parts.

Personally i would leave it as it is and save up for a proper RRS, What you are wanting to do has been done many times before and every example ive seen has looked horrendious You will only become a laughing stock of a forum which is not good, ask a few of our members on here No i won't name them, not this time But they know who they are don't they Bc & awd

Never seen one of these attempted that looked anything other than daft. It comes across as someone who wants a Sport but can't afford one - which is daft because the bottom of the Sport market isn't much more than the cost of buying a FFRR and doing a conversion on it. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

Perhaps it used to be a 4.6 but when it was modified last time around it lost 100cc's

The 1986 model is pre-P38a (your shape) therefore that would be entirely different again.

I'm guessing that for the cost of the original P38a and then the parts and labour then you wouldn't be too far from the cost of an early and high mileeage RRS?

I agree with the consensus above.... Don't bother!

Ok so I mistyped mine is a 4.6 hse the one I saw face lifted is a 1996 and here if is on eBay at present I like the front end look just want someone in the know to confirm what year sport those parts would come from please help. eBay item number of the one for sale that I am trying to copy eBay item number eBay Item No. 121004632877

I am no expert and it is quite difficult to be sure from the photo’s but the car on ebay seems to have FF headlights and grille, where the hideous rear lights came from is anyone’s guess. 12MY RRS Orkney Grey HSE Lux
